O.K. I admit it; I am becoming a coffee snob. Well actually I prefer the term connoisseur. I will make my own coffee at home; lattes, mochas, and cappuccinos, and when I’m not at home I prefer to give my money to local coffee shops.
This opinion piece in last Sundays P.D. entitled: Why we love to hate Starbucks is a good formulation of my thoughts on the matter.
Just a few reasons why “I hate Starbucks”, From an BS addict:
I get a double shot that costs 1.88 cents “everyday”. I do not believe in tipping unless I get table service. I live in a tipping town Las Vegas but when the “behind the counter snob” server gives me back the change I get it slapped in my hand as to say “uh you are a cheap jerk for taking back a few pennys when you could drop it in the tip jar or just wave me to keep the change. Half the time they make my order wrong.
I even had a SB employee actually tell me “oh you are not tipping me”. F her I complained to the SB corp. office and they sent me two free coupons that I took right to that store and ordered the most expensive drink and did not leave a tip.
Barnes and Noble who serves SB beans is much nicer and they use real plates and knive for their bagles. I once asked the same broad at the SB about toasting my bagle because they will do that at B & N and she was snotty as usual and said “uh we are not a resturant and that is why we don’t wear hair covers”. When did a toster need a hair cover.
F her and all the unskilled SB employees who are angry that they are so unskilled that they know they will never be able to get any other job other than serving coffee. The only nice SB employees are the student who know they are not going to be stuck in an unskilled job like working for SB or Burger King or McDoanlds the rest of their life.
Just wait til the coffee trend ends. Coffee was a big deal 50 years ago. Everyone drank coffee, smoked and drank. Then soft drinks took over. Everything has it’s cycle.
P.S. Yes I am addicted to SB I still go ther every morning. WHY, WHY, WHY?

Dear Chicky,
You obviously have a lot of pent up aggression, and not just about Starbucks, but about life in general, and I like that about you; it shows you’ve got spunk.
I also like how you worked the term ‘broad‘ into your little diatribe here. We at Schwer.us appreciate the use of such vernacular.
To answer you question: you like the rest of us at some point in time in our lives are a corporate whore.
p.s., I can’t say for certain, but there may be a direct correlation between your lack of tipping, and the inability of the attendant to complete your order properly. That is not to say that I disagree with your beliefs on tipping, but it is something to think about.
