SSNs are used as identification numbers far too often. Any step to moving away from using a little slip of unlaminated paper with a number that anyone can discover as "identification" is a good one. 2. Is there any reason that illegal immigrants shouldn't be able to get a drivers license? It says right on it that it is only a license to drive, not to be used for any other purpose. Just because they can legally drive doesn't mean they can legally live here. I’m completely in favor of this (assuming there are no hidden downsides) for two reasons.
