Yesterday I’m sitting upstairs and Augie yells “Angela come down here.” So I do and there he is holding a little black and white fox terrier with a collar that has a vet’s number on it. So we went outside to see if anyone was around looking for a lost dog but didn’t come across anyone.
This is when I get all excited and think “Well we gave it a shot, she’s mine!” But then Augie reminds me that she has a home and someone will miss her. Yah yah sure whatever.
So we named her Kati and played with her. She’s just a pup, maybe 2 years old and full of energy. She peed on our carpet, chased Blue (our cat)around the house, scratched up my arms a bit by trying to jump on me repeatedly and tore up two of Blue’s favorite toys. But I fell in love with her anyway. Augie called the vet though to see if there were any takers. We later took her on a walk, again seeing if her owners were looking for her and put up a couple ‘lost dog’ signs.
So last night, Augie slept with her in his room, which she peed on the carpet again, pissing him off to no end. But ultimately we decided that if no one called back, we’d keep her.
Unfortunately (for me) this morning we got a call and Augie took her back to her owners, which live right behind us. Apparently she belongs to a really old lady who says that her name is Gigi and that she’s super high energy, which even she doesn’t know if she can handle sometimes. So Augie made the suggestion that if she decides she can’t handle Gigi anymore, to give us a call.
I hope she calls. But if she doesn’t, we have a couple yellow spots on the carpet to always remind us of crazy little Gigi.
awww.
ewww.
Augie only _said_ it was Gigi who peed on the carpet. I think we know the real culprit here.
